HISTORICAL IMAGES FROM THE LAST 150 YEARS
Take a step back in time and take a look at the Helmsley Archive website we designed a couple of years ago. The Helmsley Archive is a collection of over 9400 images illustrating the history of Helmsley over the last 150 years; more than 3880 images are currently available on the website.
The Helmsley Archive project began in 2008 after Helmsley Town Council was bequeathed hundreds of photographs by a local man, John Collier. This impressive collection continues to grow with volunteers scanning and cataloguing thousands of images.

The scrapbooks have been professionally scanned by the North Yorkshire County Record Office and are a fascinating record of life and lives in Helmsley and the area. For more information and to download PDF versions of each one please visit The Helmsley Archive Scrapbooks page.
