WEBSITE OF THE MONTH
Each month we will focus on a website from our design portfolio. This month the spotlight is on perinatal mental health and the campaign of Brighter Skies to provide better perinatal care and support for families across Yorkshire and beyond. Because no family deserves to be left in the dark.
Brighter Skies was born from the perinatal experience of a local family in their struggle and determination to access the care needed that every new parent deserves. Early intervention in the perinatal period is not just important, it's lifesaving. Brighter Skies want to spark real change.

CAMPAIGN GOALS

SPOTLIGHT
To shine a spotlight on the urgent gaps in perinatal support and care in Yorkshire hospitals and trusts (Tees, Esk & Valley) through lived and shared experiences.
LOCAL COUNCIL
To bridge the gaps, Brighter Skies want their local council to commit and match to other trusts (such as Teeside, Harrogate), by having a mental health midwife as part of each district area's community teams as standard.
PLAYGROUP
To deliver a stay and play group within the Thirsk area, that operates on a weekly basis, in which perinatal professionals attend, from midwives to peer support workers. This would be open to all new families, to provide a space for accessing support or to simply but crucially not to feel alone and gain some reassurance.
SUPPORT
To help women who have experienced any perinatal mental health issues to know they are not lone and, if they want to, to them help find their voice to share their stories or seek out any support they need.

DESIGN & CONTENT
This modern website has a strong identity using bold colours on a clean white background to create an instant and lasting impact. The support page will continue to grow with even more resources, groups and networks helping women one step at a time who have experienced any perinatal mental health issues.

You are not alone. Brighter Skies would love to hear from you, especially if you have resources from your own experience you would like to share.
